Almost Great Comeback For the Swarm Falls Short

Down 6-2 early in the second quarter, the Swarm looked like the playoff stage may have been too frightening to overcome in the team first ever playoff game. Insert Matt Disher in net to replace Nick Patterson and the the Swarm slowly but surely started to rally.

Eventually tying the game at 10-10 in the fourth quarter, Jamie Taylor took a five minute high sticking penalty on John Tavares with the shot clock running low. Tavares was still able to get the pass off to Mark Steenhuis who buried the game winning goal on the delay to send the Bandits to the East Finals.

Ryan Ward led the Swarm with two goals and three assists, while Disher showed his mettle saving 31 of 36 shots in relief.

The Bandits will host the Rochester Knighthawks next Saturday in the East Division Finals.
