on former Swarm Craig Point's game winner. In Rochester later in the year, the Swarm led 10-9 going into the fourth quarter but were shut
out 3-0 the rest of way by the Knighthawks. The last time the Swarm beat the Knighthawks was on January 26, 2008 in a 17-16 OT win in Rochester.

- This game will be the first of two pre-season games for the Swarm with the second on Sunday, December 18th in Six Nations against the Toronto Rock.
- At this time, there should be at least thirteen new members of the team come roster deadline day on Dccember 22nd.
- The roster turnover will be the biggest in Swarm history.
- It is projected that seven rookies will make the Swarm roster.
- This will be the debut of John Arlotta's plan for the future of the Swarm after he decided to become general manager after letting
Marty O'Neill go in June.
- Only Nick Patterson remains on the team prior to Arlotta purchasing the team in 2008.
- Andrew Suitor, Jordan MacIntsoh and Shayne Bennett should see face-off duty in the game.
- Transition led by Suitor and Andrew Watt looks to be the strongest unit on the team.
- The defense is the most uncertan group.
- Goaltending should be solid with Nick Patterson and rookie Evan Kirk.
- The offense should have 3 to 4 new players but leading scoers Ryan Benesch and Callum Crawford return.
- Joe Cinosky and Matt Kelly are the only pure defenders left from last year's team.
- Look for Suitor to be captain replacing Ryan Cousins, who was traded to Edmonton in July. Edmonton then traded
Cousins to Rochester this fall.
- Players on the edge: Tyler Carlson, Todd Baxter, Pat Smith, Bennett, Joel Wasson,
Joel Henry, Dan Ball & Brendon Doran.
- Rochester defeated Philadelphia on December 11th, 11-8, to open their pre-season.
- Rochester traded their top two scorers from last year away this off-season in Shawn Williams and Shawn Evans.
- Cousins and Travis Hill, both with the Swarm last year, are now with the Knighhawks.
- Only Mike Accursi and Chris Schiller remain from the Knighthawks 2007 Champions Cup winning team.
- Rocheter Owner Curt Styres took over GM duties last year and was named NLL GM of the Year. Arlotta is looking to do the same this year.
Prediction: Minnesota Swarm 15 Rochester Knighthawks 13
